Big Bear Adventure VI, the event of the year for the Southern CA Bear community will gather in Big Bear Lake on August 21-24. The brainchild and creator of this event Steve (Stevo) Harris celebrates his sixth anniversary with this event and the city of Big Bear Lake is ready to help the Bears and all their friends celebrate. The weekend brings in the hottest bears, cubs and admirers from all over. BBA 6 weekend is not only an event but also a real vacation destination for hundreds of men from all over the country and the world. The backdrop of Big Bear Lake and a city that welcomes the bear community makes it a perfect place to party, eat, dance and enjoy the natural surroundings of this mountain resort. It is a weekend that attendees will soon not forget.

When asked what attracts his guests to this event, promoter Steve Harris replies; “We get a large amount of return attendees as Big Bear Adventure is a grass roots event. There is an energy that is hard to describe but the town welcomes us with open arms, and the guys leave with new friendships and a sense of having a true vacation. It’s all about having a blast. I want the guys to leave having a true experience and I am proud knowing that everyone leaves happy and full of great memories”.
There is quite a bit to do in Big Bear. Jet ski, bike ride, hike, horseback ride, just to name a few. Also there are many, many restaurants to keep everyone well fed from fast food to 5 star restaurants to ice cream shops and coffee bars. If you want to get there a day early, Chad’s Place hosts their own “Meet and Greet” for the Bears on Thursday evening serving wings and drink specials.

The official Meet and Greet will be held on Friday at sunset, on Pineknot Marina, on Big Bear Lake, Alibi East owners and creators of the Bear Cave in Pomona will provide music to dance to while the sunsets on Big Bear Lake. Food will be served. ($10 entry without pass). Friday night the Uniform and Gear dance starts the weekend off with a bang at the host hotel.

Two pool parties follow on Saturday and Sunday at the Northwood’s pool with music by Palm Springs DJ Chub Jim and Saturday night Big Bear Adventure Weekend and The Standard Magazine proudly present Colton Ford in concert and afterward party with well-known DJ John LePage. If you can’t make it for the whole weekend, there are day passes for all pool and dance events. Guests may also purchase “all event” passes at registration on Friday evening from 5-8PM at the Northwoods Resort.   Only a few rooms may be left at the host hotel, but there are many small cabins and guesthouses at very reasonable prices still available.

Steve is also the lead promoter of International Bear Convergence. If it’s freshmen year of this event 2014 was any indication (attendance over 2,500) IBC promises to be one of the major Bear events in the nation for years to come. Boosting Palm Springs as an even more welcoming destination, and with 30 years of event planning under his belt, the city of Palm Springs is right behind Steve. The event will support AIDS Assistance program where a potion of the proceeds will go to this organization.
