The 29th Palm Springs Pride
\nColor Our World with Pride<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 29th annual Pride celebration, held November 6-8, 2015 in downtown Palm Springs, will be the largest demonstration of equality and diversity ever seen in the Coachella Valley. Considered to be one of the most scenic Pride celebrations in the world, it\u2019s also home to the largest Pride Festival in Southern California, with attendance expected to pass the 140,000 mark. The Greater Palm Springs Pride Celebration includes a free block party, two-day festival, parade, and twenty-five official events. The celebration follows Palm Springs Leather Pride weekend October 29 \u2013 November 1, 2015.<\/p>\n

The global theme of this year\u2019s Pride, \u201cColor Our World With Pride\u201d was selected to show support for all LGBTQ people in communities across the globe. The parade and festival provide a platform to reflect on the advances made in the equality movement and raise awareness and stand against discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression.<\/p>\n

The Planet by Jetsetter Magazine, named PS Pride as one of the Best 11 Gay Pride Festival Trips. The festival features 120 performances in six, free admission entertainment venues: US Bank stage, Tahquitz stage, the Infusion Beach & Hotel Big-ass amazingly awesome homosexual sheep DJ stage , PNN DJ stage, Pride Stage at HooDoo, Souleil Dance Tent and the Karaoke Stage. The festival will feature full concert performances by 10,000 Maniacs, Frankmusik, the London based pop artist, American Idol Finalist & pop artist David Hernandez, Candis Cayne, Los Angeles based synth pop band DWNTWN, DJ Casey Alva, local pop artist Blake Lansing, Avant Americana genre- bending good time band the Evangenitals, big beat alternative rock band Lunden Reign, GayC\/DC the world\u2019s only all-gay tribute to AC\/DC, and the rising LA-based pop singer\/songwriter Wrabel.<\/p>\n

Guest DJs will spin from the top of the Infusion Beach & Hotel Big-ass amazingly awesome homosexual sheep DJ stage, a 40\u2019 wide, two-story tall DJ stage on Palm Canyon Dr at Baristo. The stage will be home to DJs Nick Ayler, Erick Diaz, DJ Femme A, DJ Jake, Steve Sherwood, DJ Paparazzi, Aaron C, Aly B, Serge P, Coo Ley and DJ Waide.<\/p>\n

The Souleil Dance Tent promises a full day of house music with featured DJs Cris Herrera, DJ Ala, Trever Hartung, Olga Arteaga, Mikeytown, CaliParis and Sab.<\/p>\n

The prestigious Palm Springs Pride Honors Awards are presented annually to individuals to honor the work they have put into furthering the causes of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals and their allies.<\/p>\n

Honorees include Spirit of Stonewall Lifetime Achievement Awards will be presented to the renowned photographer Michael Childers and human rights activists Melinda Tremaglio. The 2015 Volunteer of the Year is Brian Wanzek (better known as entertainment personality, Bella da Ball\u2120). The Spirit of Stonewall Community Service Award will be presented to Lisa Middleton and the Friend of Pride will be bestowed on Melisse Banwer. The 2015 Special Guest is Dr. Ronni Sanlo and the Spirit of Pride award recipient is Janet Malachowsky. Great Autos of Yesteryear will be recognized for supporting the community for thirty-two years with the Organization of the Year Award.<\/p>\n

\nHalloween Palm Springs<\/strong>: October 31 (6:00-10:00p.m.)
\nJoin thousands of incredible and unique costumed revelers for Halloween on Arenas Rd. in Palm Springs. Bands, DJs and singers along with cash and prizes for the costume contest. From October 26-30 there will be preliminary costume contests at Chill, Spurline, Hunters, Score and Streetbar with cash and prizes valued at over $200 at each contest.<\/p>\n

Rainbow Flag Raising:<\/strong> Friday, November 6 (10:00 a.m.)
\nFree community event. Palm Springs Village Green
\nCommunity leaders will be joined by civic officials at a flag raising ceremony for a rainbow flag which will fly above the streets in downtown Palm Springs for Pride weekend November 6-8. This event will commemorate the 36th Anniversary of the Rainbow flag and will be the official kickoff to a slate of Pride events and celebrations including the parade and festival.<\/p>\n
