Jonny McGovern Is All Gay Every Day<\/strong>

\u201cFans were always asking to know what happens on the set of a Jonny McGovern video,\u201d says Skot Video, the Emmy nominated director of Jonny\u2019s \u201cSomethin\u2019 For the Fellas (That Like The Fellas)\u201d and \u201cMan Areas\u201d music videos. It was while filming \u201cMan Areas\u201d that Skot realized the potential for a full film. \u201cThere were so many succulent and sexy gentleman on set doing lots of slutty gay stuff, I figured why not give the fans what they\u2019ve been begging for?\u201d<\/p>\n

And so, The Gayest Video Special of All Time<\/em> was born. The original intent was to air the special on television but the content proved too raunchy.\u201cWe filmed this for the fans; to give them a glimpse into a day in the life of an underground superstar. We had to release the DVD independently,\u201d says Skot.<\/p>\n

The DVD includes six music videos from Jonny McGovern\u2019s \u201cThe Gayest of All Time\u201d album, along with never before seen comedy sketches, uncensored behind-the-scenes access to the \u201cMan Areas\u201d music video and five hilarious clips from Jonny’s podcast. There is also plenty of music, and not only from Jonny, but from Team Pimp members Adam Joseph and drag diva Erickatoure.<\/p>\n

\u201cJonny\u2019s universe is a very inclusive one\u201d, says Skot. \u201cAnyone of any size, color, sexual orientation, hell, even a Republican, can join in and have a good time.”<\/p>\n

Jonny \u201cThe Gay Pimp\u201d McGovern\u2019s career began in 2003 with Dirty Gay Hits<\/em>, a collection of hilarious gay themed songs including \u201cSoccer Practice\u201d and \u201cLookin\u2019 Cute\/Feelin\u2019 Cute\u201d. But it was the Internet release of the \u201cSoccer Practice\u201d music video that made Jonny an international phenomenon. The video introduced the world to the colorful antics of Jonny \u201cThe Gay Pimp\u201d McGovern and his queer posse, dubbed \u201cTeam Pimp\u201d. The music video received over three million downloads and was added to the rotation on MTV Europe and MTV Asia.<\/p>\n

The overwhelming success of \u201cSoccer Practice\u201d landed Jonny as a commentary contributor on a variety of VH1 shows including Best Week Ever, Totally Gay, and 40 Dumbest Celebrity Quotes. It also earned him a slot on Comedy Central’s all-gay stand-up show Out on the Edge, hosted by Alan Cumming, which brought him to the attention of Rosie O\u2019Donnell, who cast Jonny as a lead player on her LOGO-TV comedy show, The Big Gay Sketch Show<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In 2007, Jonny unleashed his second solo album, Gays Gone Wild<\/em>.It was followed with\u00a02008\u2019s Keep it Faggity: The Gay Pimp Remix Project<\/em> and 2012\u2019s The Gayest of All Time<\/em> with hits\u00a0\u201cDickmatized\u201d, \u201cSexy Nerd\u201d, \u201cMan Areas\u201d, \u201c#TOTDF\u201d and\u00a0\u201cThe Gayest of All Time\u201d, all included on the new DVD.<\/p>\n

The Gayest Video Special of All Time<\/em> continues Jonny\u2019s journey into the fabulous fairyland where queens rule, glamour is celebrated, every street is a runway and every corner a dance club. Much of the content was made possible from donations to Jonny’s Kick-starter campaign.<\/p>\n
