Here is a selection of the best VR travel to help quench your thirst for travel experiences during lockdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Le Musee du Louvre, Paris<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Louvre, the world\u2019s largest art and antiques museum, was forced to close its doors as Paris went into lockdown. While you can no longer waltz into its famous glass exterior, you can learn something of the phenomenal collection via a number of virtual tours, charting everything from Egyptian antiquities to the Galerie d\u2019Apollon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.louvre.fr\/en\/visites-en-ligne\">www.louvre.fr\/en\/visites-en-ligne<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stuffed with masterpieces from the Dutch Golden Age, the Rijksmuseum is one of Amsterdam\u2019s most popular attractions. It&#8217;s closed until 1 June, but has just launched a new interactive experience, Rijksmuseum From Home, that allows you to virtually visit the home of Rembrandt\u2019s The Nightwatch and Vermeer\u2019s The Milkmaid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rijksmuseum.nl\/en\/masterpieces-up-close\">https:\/\/www.rijksmuseum.nl\/en\/masterpieces-up-close<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jerusalem, Israel<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Israel is promoting a whole series of virtual tours for armchair travellers, including one that takes you around Jerusalem&#8217;s most famous sights. Videos have a voiceover tour guide giving more information on the city&#8217;s holiest places, while 360-degree functionality makes it feel more like you&#8217;re exploring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.samsungvr.com\/view\/Wv_0tcndBOG\">www.samsungvr.com\/view\/Wv_0tcndBOG<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Icehotel, Swedish Lapland<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aurora photography company Lights over Lapland has created experiences for those suffering wanderlust to virtually travel to the Icehotel in Swedish Lapland. The 360-degree videos allow viewers to visit the local Arctic wilderness, meet local huskies and reindeer, go dogsledding and reindeer sledding and even join a Northern Lights hunt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCx6-8cW9rHGNGhELh83fcCg\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCx6-8cW9rHGNGhELh83fcCg<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>British Museum, London<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The UK capital\u2019s famed museum has hooked up with Google Arts &amp; Culture, along with more than 2,000 other leading institutions, to offer an interactive tour. Wander through time and click on different artifacts to see them up close, read up on their history, and hear more information with an audio guide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.britishmuseum.withgoogle.com\">www.britishmuseum.withgoogle.com<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Guggenheim, New York<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New York City\u2019s iconic gallery has a Google Street View tour where you can \u201camble\u201d along its winding corridor and view works up close, such as Catherine Opie\u2019s daring Self Portrait\/Pervert triptych; Ivan Navarro\u2019s installation Homeless Lamp, the Juice Sucker; and Ovitz\u2019s Library by Jonas Wood. Not only does it show you the sites, it also comes with a guide who talks you through significant events in Central Park\u2019s history as you \u201ctravel\u201d from the West 72nd entrance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youvisit.com\/tour\/centralpark\">www.youvisit.com\/tour\/centralpark<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ibiza, Spain<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ushua\u00efa Ibiza, an open-air club on the hard-partying Balearic Island, has launched #StayAtHomeSessions \u2013 a re-stream of some of 2019\u2019s best DJ sets from H\u00ef Ibiza and Ushua\u00efa Ibiza, to bring the party atmosphere to the homes of ravers around the world. The first session was launched on 21 March, featuring Solardo, Davide Squillace, Camelphat, Nic Fanciulli and Andrea Oliva.
